Flat and Low Slope Roofs

Flat Roofing Experts

Flat roofing has become more common in contemporary society. Flat roofs have always been quite common in countries such as Mexico, which have relatively dry climates. However, flat roofs are becoming more popular for other reasons. For instance, some of our clients prefer flat roofs so that they can lay on them and gaze at the stars or get a nice view of their neighborhood from above. Others prefer a flat roofing surface because they allow water to run off freely from the low incline over an addition or patio cover. Regardless of your reason, ASAP Roofing will always accommodate your Rockwall flat roofing needs without delay and at a fair price.

Preferred Materials

ASAP Roofing used hot asphalt and felt paper with a gravel ballast for flat roofing in the past, but has since stopped using this type of roofing because there are now much better and more cost effective options for your low slope roofing needs. We currently use several different roofing materials to engineer our flat roofs, including modified bitumen, polyvinyl chloride, and thermoplastic polyolefin.

Furthermore, we have shifted to perpetual membrane sheeting for many of our flat roofs installations. We have found that perpetual membranes are more resistant to accumulated static water during the rainier seasons. In addition, we use top-grade adhesives to bond together multiple sheets in order to offset the penetration of wind and water with many of our flat roofing structures.

Granule Covered Modified Bitumen Roofing

For smaller, residential, flat roofs, like patio covers and small additions, we often recommend and install a granule covered modified bitumen roofing that can be color matched to the asphalt shingle selection used on the sloped roof areas of the house. This can be installed in a one, two, or three ply system. For the flat roofs above living space, we recommend a three ply system. ASAP Roofing can install insulation board or sheeting on the flat roof prior to installing the final modified bitumen roofing in the event that the customer would like to increase the thermal quality of the roof to cut down on utility costs.
