File a Claim
You contact your insurance company and file an insurance claim for storm damage to your property.

Insurance Adjuster Appointment

The insurance adjuster will call you to schedule an inspection appointment. You explain that you want your roofing contractor to be present for the inspection and ask for a specific date and time. Be sure to get the adjusters name and contact information. You, then, need to call your ASAP Roofing representative right away to inform them of that appointment. If there is a scheduling conflict, the adjuster may have to be called right back for an alternate date/time scheduled for the inspection. It is beneficial to the insurance claim process if the homeowners are able to also be present at the time of the inspection. ASAP Roofing involvement helps to prevent you from getting stuck with a settlement that won’t cover your costs, or even worse, getting denied.

Damage Estimate (Insurance Adjuster)

If the adjuster agrees with us that your property sustained damage from a storm, they will create an estimate for the required repairs, often while they are still there at the property. If so, they will go over that estimate with you and pay you the total to replace or repair the property less the depreciation and the deductible. Sometimes they will leave and send you the estimate and the first check later. We agree to accept what your insurance company will pay for the claim, including your deductible, and ensure the highest quality repair or replacement. With ASAP Roofing, you pay no out-of-pocket expense other than your insurance deductible.

Contract for Work
At the completion of the inspection, if you have received the estimate, we will request that you provide us with a copy of that estimate. We will execute a contract for the work specified in the insurance adjusters estimate plus any supplements that may need to be added if the insurance adjuster missed or miscalculated something.

Contract Sent to Insurance Company

ASAP Roofing will review the scope of work and confirm all measurements to assure all of the damage is included and has been accurately calculated. We will fax the signed contract and any supplement request to the insurance company to initiate the process for the insurance company to send you the RCV (replacement cost value) or final check.

The Final Check
If there is a mortgage on the home, the mortgage company’s name will probably be on the check along with yours. There will be several forms to be filled out and notarized. You will need to send the check for endorsement along with those forms to the mortgage company to be processed. It’s best to send this ‘overnight’ to speed up the process.
